Diabetes Registries

Diabetes registries—computerized databases with health information about individual patients and populations—are valuable tools for health care providers, health systems, and patients. Registries allow providers to record critical elements of care, generate lists of patients with specific needs, produce summaries of relevant patient information, and monitor patients for outreach and follow up. Clinics and medical practices can use registries to perform quality measurements and comparisons. Ultimately, registries benefit patients through facilitating more coordinated and organized care.
