NYHealth’s inaugural conference on Building Healthy Communities will take place Monday, December 3, 2018.

The keynote speaker will be Angela Glover Blackwell, Founder in Residence of PolicyLink. Through her writing, speaking, and leadership, Ms. Glover Blackwell has helped to grow and define a national movement focused on innovating and improving public policy. She has worked with a wide range of partners to ensure access and opportunity for all low-income people and communities of color. As a leading voice in the movement for improving the health of neighborhoods and advancing public policy across America, Ms. Glover Blackwell is a frequent commentator for some of the nation’s top news organizations.

Following the keynote remarks, two panel discussions will showcase NYHealth grantees and partners that are working to improve the health and wellbeing of the neighborhoods in which they live, work, and play.

The “Food and Health” panel will focus on neighborhood examples of increasing access to fresh and affordable produce.

The “Improving the Built Environment, Block by Block” panel will highlight efforts to integrate residents across New York State to improve spaces and places in neighborhoods.

View the agenda and R.S.V.P. here by Friday, November 16, 2018. Registration is free, but event space is limited.
