Institute for Patient-and-Family Centered Care’s upcoming intensive training seminar, Moving Forward with Patient- and Family-Centered Care: Partnerships for Quality and Safety, will be held at the Crowne Plaza Detroit Downtown Riverfront Hotel in Detroit, Michigan, June 13-14, 2019.

This two-day seminar will provide comprehensive and practical sessions for leaders, staff, physicians, nurses, other clinical staff, patients, and families on how to be effective agents for patient- and family-centered change in their organizations. Overall, the event is designed to develop productive partnerships among health care professionals, patients, and families.

The seminar offers attendees the opportunity to:

  • Develop an understanding of patient- and family-centered care and how to apply it in hospitals, ambulatory programs, and other health settings;
  • Learn how to start a new patient and family advisory program or strengthen an existing program;
  • Discover how to effectively partner with patients and families in a variety of efforts including: quality improvement, patient safety, responding to the opioid epidemic, education of health care professionals, research, and facility design; and
  • Develop an action plan to enact change for your organization.

Continuing education credits will be available for physicians, nurses, and child life professionals.
