Date

October 11, 2019

Time

12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Location

NYHealth Conference Room, 1385 Broadway, 23rd Floor (corner of 38th Street), New York, NY 10018.

Patients should be partners in their health care—whether in the exam room and or at the policy table. At the clinical level, patients should have access to their own health information and have a voice in health care decision-making. Patients and consumers also need to help drive and inform decisions that affect health care quality, access, and costs. Although patients often experience the health care system at both its best and its worst, they don’t always know what to do when the system hasn’t worked in their favor. Over the last few years, NYHealth has supported projects across New York State to empower and train patients to advocate for themselves at the policy level.

Please join us for a conversation on activating patients as advocates to advance change. Panelists are:

• Lois Uttley, MPP, Women’s Health Program Director, Community Catalyst; Founder, MergerWatch

• Brian Romero, LMSW, Policy Fellow I, Communications & Public Affairs, GMHC

See agenda and location. Lunch will be provided. (Registration is now closed for this event.)
