On August 25, 2020, NYHealth hosted a webinar on helpful tips and strategies for nonprofits to share their stories with the media during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Getting the attention of reporters is often challenging, even in normal times. The current crisis can make it harder for nonprofits to reach the media about their work in the community, especially for those without dedicated communications staff. There are some useful, straightforward techniques, however, that organizations with limited resources can use to break through the newsroom noise and better position themselves to get the stories of their impact told.

Former journalist Beth DeFalco, who is now a Managing Director at Mercury Public Affairs, spoke about how to build relationships with and pitch to the media during the pandemic.
