On October 28, 2020, NYHealth hosted a webinar on practical, effective, and cutting-edge ways for clinicians to partner with patients and family members to improve the health care system.

The COVID-19 pandemic has altered the landscape for patient partnerships. During this time of high pressure and increased risks, many health systems have sidelined commitments to patient- and family-centered care. Navigating this uncharted territory requires engaging with patients and families to ensure future efforts are grounded in a true understanding of their needs.

Christine Bechtel and Jennifer SweeneyX4 Health co-founders and consumer advocates, shared strategies with NYHealth Program Officer MaKaya Saulsberry for bringing consumers together with clinicians to imagine a better health care system and new ways of working together both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
