Writing and Designing for Better Health

July 20, 2017 - July 27, 2017

This free two-part health literacy training series by Say Ah! is for professionals who create health information materials for Medicaid and Medicare audiences. Participants will gain skills to more clearly communicate their organizations’ work to audiences that struggle to understand health information.

The plain language training will help participants meet the literacy needs of those who read at or below a fifth-grade level. The design workshop will help participants create materials that meet the ability of readers with vision impairments, reading and learning differences, and low education levels. Each session will also include training in health literacy best practices followed by a workshop to get real-time feedback and support on materials. Participants should bring samples of relevant work.
