United Hospital Fund Conference

This United Hospital Fund Conference, “Advancing Medicaid Reform,” will examine how State and Federal policies, the Supreme Court Rulings, and national elections are reshaping New York’s Medicaid program.
The session includes:
A keynote address by New York’s Medicaid Director, Jason Helgerson, on recent activities and accomplishments, ongoing challenges and opportunities, and priorities for the future;
Sara Rosenbaum, Harold and Jane Hirsh Professor of Health Law and Policy, George Washington University, analyzing the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Affordable Care Act and previewing November’s national elections and their significance for health policy;
Courtney Burke, Commissioner, New York State’s Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, speaking on the agency’s agenda for improving care for the Medicaid beneficiaries it serves; and
- A discussion on improving service delivery and prioritizing quality measurement, featuring Hany Abdelaal, Chief Medical Officer, VNS Choice Healthplans; Suzanne Feeney, General Manager, Medicaid, OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions; and Verona Greenland, President & Chief Executive Officer, Morris Heights Health Center; moderated by Michael Birnbaum, Vice President, United Hospital Fund.
