Children’s Defense Fund National Conference
July 22, 2012 - July 25, 2012
The Children’s Defense Fund is holding a national conference, “Pursuing Justice for Children and the Poor with Urgency and Persistence,” on economic inequality and the urgent needs of children and the poor in 2012.
The Children’s Defense Fund national conference will gather 3,000 leading researchers, educators, policymakers, practitioners, faith leaders, and advocates, including 1,500 young adult leaders, to discuss what can be done to change the outcomes for those being left behind.
Plenary sessions and workshops will focus on the latest research, best practices, and community building models, as well as community and youth empowerment strategies to close the gap between what is known to work and what is actually being done for children and the poor. Experts, practitioners, and activists will help shape a national conversation on economic inequity and catalyze systematic action for children and the poor in 2012 and beyond.
