As Communications Associate, Michele McEvoy is responsible for assisting with NYSHealth’s communications initiatives, with a particular focus on the New York State Diabetes Campaign.
Prior to joining the Foundation in January 2011, Ms. McEvoy ran the communications and development departments at Grace Institute, a nonprofit providing tuition-free job training to underserved NYC-area women. As director of communications at Grace Institute, she oversaw all communications and media strategies as well as fundraising initiatives for the organization. Ms. McEvoy has also worked for the American Society for Microbiology as part of the production team for Microbe, the Society’s monthly magazine.
Ms. McEvoy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from University of Maryland at College Park and a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from New York University.
