As Communications Officer, Margaret Figley is responsible for NYSHealth’s marketing and communications initiatives. Ms. Figley serves as NYSHealth's spokesperson and the liaison for reporters and researchers seeking information about the Foundation's work. Ms. Figley also works directly with the principal public relations staff of State/City agencies and grantee institutions. Additonally, Ms. Figley manages all aspects of the NYSHealth Web site.
Ms. Figley has 10 years of experience in health care. Prior to joining the Foundation in May 2007, Ms. Figley served in a number of positions at the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), most recently as assistant director of marketing and communications for GNYHA Services, Inc.
Ms. Figley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and International Politics from George Mason University and a Master of Public Administration degree in Health Policy and Management from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. At Wagner, Ms. Figley worked on a Capstone team to develop an international component of the New York Times Knowledge Network Web site.
