As Program Officer, Bronwyn Starr works in the areas of diabetes prevention and advancing primary care, focusing specifically on the Foundation’s strategy for expanding primary care capacity and access. Ms. Starr also manages the Meeting the Mark: Achieving Excellence in Diabetes Care initiative, which provides primary care physicians with small grants and technical assistance to support the delivery and recognition of high-quality diabetes care.
Prior to joining NYSHealth in September 2010, Ms. Starr ran the Medication Adherence Project: Tools for Improving Self-Management at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Ms. Starr also worked in the reproductive health sector with Planned Parenthood of New York City, where she helped develop an online evaluation toolkit for international reproductive health organizations. She also has worked as a New York City emergency medical technician.
Ms. Starr holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon and a Master of Public Health degree from New York University.
