Claire Parde is the Executive Director of the Healthcare Consortium, a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 that contributes to healthy rural communities by increasing access to health care services. Located in Hudson, New York, Healthcare Consortium serves Columbia and Greene counties in the Upper Hudson Valley. Prior to joining the Healthcare Consortium in 2011, Ms. Parde coordinated the community health and wellness programs at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Greene and Columbia counties, her first job in the region after moving from her native state of New Jersey in 2007. Previously, she worked on issues of poverty and justice at the Community Service Society of New York and the Urban Justice Center, as well as on food and farm system policy and practice at the New Jersey Urban Ecology Program at Rutgers University and the Kansas Rural Center. Ms. Parde has an undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in natural resource management and a graduate degree from Hunter College in applied social research.
