NYSHealth’s “Best of 2013” Annual Report
In the video above, NYSHealth President and CEO James R. Knickman reflects on the past year and looks ahead to 2014.
2013 marked an important year in New York’s health system, with the launch of the New York State of Health online marketplace and hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers enrolling in health care coverage options. New York also saw important achievements related to health care quality, with more than 3,000 primary care providers recognized for delivering excellent diabetes care and more than 600 mental health and substance use clinics making changes to provide integrated care for patients who cope with both mental health and substance use disorders.
The New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) is proud to have contributed to each of these accomplishments. In lieu of a traditional annual report, NYSHealth has identified 10 achievements in 2013 that represent the best work of the Foundation, its grantees, and its partners to improve the state of New York's health. Highlights from the last year include a broad range of the Foundation's initiatives and activities, from expanding health care coverage, to shoring up support for returning veterans and their families, to helping communities recover from Hurricane Sandy.
